Attractions

Burrowed deep in the bayou is an old rustic cabin, overgrown with vines and moss and half buried in the muck. It's easy to miss. And trust me, you should. It is known locally as the Grind House, a place inhabited by the most beastly and primitive killers imaginable. Some are dead. Some are alive. But all are deranged and dangerous. Strange how the tales get told of brutal slayings and dismemberments, smells of blood and offal wafting out of the darkness, desperate screams floating in the night air, even stories of cannibalism. Strange how these stories spread, because no one who ventures near the Grind House seems to ever return home again. There's a lot of life in most swamps. There's a lot of death in this one.

Everyone is afraid of something. All of us have something that leaves us panic stricken with chills going up our spine every time we even think about it. Phobia'z, Frightworld's newest haunted attraction, will expose your deepest, most inner fear.

No matter what you are afraid of, you will encounter it in Phobia'z. Are you afraid of the dark (Achluophobia)? From spiders (arachnophobia), snakes (ophidiophobia) and dentists (dentophobia) to the fear of close spaces (claustrophobia), mirrors (eisoptrophobia) and dogs (cynophobia), there is something to freak out even the strongest willed person. Even those afraid of electricity (electrophobia) and fire
(arsonphobia) will find something to run and scream about.

You never know what fear is around the next corner. They say the best way to conquer your fears is to encounter them, so, enter if you dare, but you might want to come alone – you might never leave!

Camping was never quite like this… As you make you way through this peaceful, blackened forest, you stumble upon things you know you shouldn't see. Or rather, things you hope you had never seen. It begins simple enough, you enter a dark forest with a bridge crossing a stream; in the distance, you can barely make out a waterfall. Deeper into the darkness you go, knowing the only way out is to go on through the woods. Farther and farther, darker and darker, until you can't see your hands in front of your face.

Then it happens…

You find yourself taken; taken from your friends, taken from your family. You are all alone…in the dark…all by yourself. You scream but you can't find your voice, even that was taken from you. Somewhere in the dark you see a light. A light you hope you never have to see again, but you find you have no choice, you head towards the light. You discover the light belongs to a house, a cabin in the woods, perhaps the owner can help you out…

With the light there is hope…?

By the time you find there is enough light around you to see once more, you decide it's best to close your eyes again. You find yourself in the middle of a cemetery, but not any cemetery, you remember you're in Frightworld and things are never as simple as they seem. Then suddenly, from out of nowhere, you hear the distant sound of drums…then the beating becomes louder. Is it the sound of the drums or the sound of your heart.

On a remote and rutted road, at the top of a dark, lonely rise, sits a forbidding structure: The Raven Hill Asylum . Its history is filled with tales of insanity, pain, confinement and torture. Over the years, what went on behind its doors has become the stuff of legend. But, though those doors have been closed for decades, The Raven Hill Asylum is open for business. Its patients still haunt the decaying hallways and dilapidated rooms, endlessly searching for revenge on those who confined them there—revenge on any living person. Through a fog of insanity, their humanity erased, they lurk around every corner, waiting. Waiting for 'new recruits' to arrive. The inmates have truly taken over this Asylum!

The air thickens as the earth closes in around you.
All you can hear are the screams of your friends as the restless souls play their games.

There's no way out from the twisting halls that lie deep underground. The entrance is closed, and the exit is no where to be seen.
You can't breath, can't scream, and can't escape.
That's how you know that you're caught in a Deathtrap.

Weave and wind your way through the deep, dark catacombs of your own demise! Deathtrap brings you closer and closer to your own end, as you explore the twists and turns of the narrow underground tunnels.

FAQ

Is it scary?
Frightworld is meant to be scary, but you will have fun at the same time.

What is the best time to arrive?
A little before or as close to our 6:30pm start time as possible. Early is better than late, we want you to enjoy the entire experience!

Where can I park and how much does it cost?
Parking is free and there is plenty of it.

Is Frightworld open if it rains?
Absolutely! Since Frightworld is an indoor screampark, we are open rain or shine!

Does Frightworld have a Security Team?
Yes, the park is patrolled by uniformed & plain clothed Security Officers (Guest Relations) and Police Officers. Frightworld also has a night-vision security system for your safety. Frightworld has a Zero Tolerance policy for Trouble Makers. Trouble Makers will be ejected from the park without refund. We want everyone to have a safe and fun time!

Are there things I am NOT ALLOWED to bring to or wear in Frightworld?
Yes. 1: No pets. (Our monsters can scare them too easily) 2: No costumes, no masks, or Halloween makeup unless cleared with us first. (We know who we are, we want to know who you are) 3: No outside food or drinks of any kind. (We have plenty of food available at our concessions stand) 4: No video recording equipment of any kind. (Remember we're watching you!)

Can I bring my cell phone?
Sure, but remember to turn them off before entering any of the houses so that you don't ruin your's or the other guests' times., also be aware that we will NOT stop to look for lost cell phones or pagers (or most anything else). If we happen to find them, they will be available at the ticket window the next night we are open.

Frightworld serve or allow alcoholic beverages?
NO! Alcoholic beverages are not allowed nor do we serve any!

Will the monsters touch me?
The theory is that if you don't touch them, they won't touch you. Bear in mind that this is a work in progress and doesn't always go according to plan! Of course, in the darker areas, something may accidentally bump into you but our cast members will not grab you, though you may be grabbed by one of the members of your own group who is too terrified to continue without your help.

Are the actors always “in character?”
What actors? We have real monsters! But seriously, our actors are the best around and pride themselves on their characters. However, actors will break character if they see someone breaking a rule. Remember, the rules are their for your and our safety.

Can I bring my kids?

We recommend that children 10 or under should be accompanied by an adult but, you as the parent must make the judgment call as you know your child best. Remember this is a scream-park and we do not give refunds for being "too scared."

Is there a discount for children?
Yes. Sundays are kids’ day. Kids under 10 years old save 5 dollars on off a regular priced admission ticket.

How long does it take to go through all the attractions at Frightworld?
It varies in the two hour range. Sometimes longer on a busier night. So get there early to beat the crowd!

Since I will be there for a while, is there anything I can buy to eat or drink?
Yes! Frightworld has a concession stand inside the screampark with various snacks, soft drinks, and water at reasonable, non-park prices.

Do you give group discounts?
Yes! Group discounts are available for groups of 20 or more when arrangements are made in advance and prepaid.

Is photography allowed?
No! There are many reasons for this including that a flash or strobe will temporarily blind our actors, it disrupts the other guest's experience, and pausing to take pictures slows down the line behind you! Video cameras and audio recorders are NOT permitted anywhere in Frightworld without our prior written consent!

If I can't take pictures, how can I remember my experience?

This question is asked every year, and for the 10 Years of Fear celebration, we have special plans to share the experience with our guests!

Is it the same as last year?
Absolutely not! Frightworld spends all year changing most scenes for every year so that we can provide a uniquely terrifying experience. We do keep some of our more popular elements due to public demand. We are larger than last year and have at least one all-new haunted house every year; in addition to our other completely revamped haunted houses. (We like knowing you don't know what to expect next!)

Is it as good as last year?
It's better! Throughout the past 10 years of scaring guests, there's one thing we've learned: Every year gets bigger and better!
